Terms of Service.

Last updated: April 2026

By creating an account or completing a purchase on Code on the Highway, you agree to the terms below. Please read them carefully. These terms also serve as our Privacy Policy — both are covered in this document.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Code on the Highway (the "Platform"), registering an account, or purchasing any product, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Accounts & Registration

To purchase products, you must sign in via our authentication provider (Clerk). By registering, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use.

3. Purchases & Repository Access

Each product listed on the Platform represents access to a private GitHub repository containing production-ready source code. By completing a purchase you are buying a personal, non-transferable licence to use that code in your own projects.

Upon successful payment, your GitHub account will be granted collaborator access to the relevant repository. Access is granted permanently — you keep it even if the listing is later removed from the products list.

A GitHub account is required to receive repository access. It is your responsibility to provide a valid GitHub username during checkout.

4. Licence & Permitted Use

The licence granted to you is limited to personal and commercial use within your own projects. You may not:

  • Resell, sublicence, or redistribute the source code in any form.
  • Share repository access with third parties who have not purchased the product.
  • Use the code to build a competing marketplace or product-listing service.
  • Remove or obscure any copyright notices included in the code.

All intellectual property rights in the source code remain with the original author. Your purchase grants you a licence to use it, not ownership of it.

5. Payments & Refunds

All prices are displayed in US dollars (USD). Payments are processed securely through Stripe and PayPal. We do not store your card details — all payment data is handled directly by our payment providers in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

Because repository access is granted immediately upon payment confirmation, all sales are final and non-refundable once access has been delivered. If you experience a technical issue preventing access, contact us and we will resolve it promptly.

6. Expansions

Some projects may offer optional expansions — paid add-ons that extend the base application with additional features. Expansions are subject to the same licence terms as the base product.

Expansions follow a strict purchase order: each expansions requires ownership of the base product and any preceding expansion. This dependency is clearly indicated on the product page before purchase.

Expansions are optional. The base application is complete and fully functional without them.

7. Data We Collect

By registering or purchasing, you agree that we collect and store the following information:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and any details provided via our authentication provider (Clerk).
  • GitHub username — collected at checkout and used solely to grant repository access.
  • Purchase history — a record of the products you have purchased, stored to verify your access rights.
  • Usage data — anonymised information about how you interact with the Platform (pages visited, search terms), used to improve the service.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Data is shared only with the service providers required to operate the Platform (Clerk for authentication, Stripe and PayPal for payments, Neon for database hosting).

8. Data Retention & Your Rights

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active or as required to honour your purchase access. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us. Note that purchase records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes even after account deletion.

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please reach out to us directly.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform and all products are provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the source code will be free of bugs, or that it will be suitable for any particular purpose. It is your responsibility to review and test the code before deploying it to a production environment.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Code on the Highway shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any purchased product, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.

11. Contact

If you have any questions about these terms, your data, or your purchases, you can reach us via codeonthehighway@gmail.com, or through the social channels listed in the footer of this site.
